So lately, been wondering
Who will be there to take my place
When I'm gone you'll need love
To light the shadows on your face
If a greater wave shall fall and fall upon us all
Then between the sand and stone
Could you make it on your own

If I could, then I would
I'll go wherever you will go
Way up high or down low
I'll go wherever you will go
I'm baaaack! I had the most AWESOME time ever. I hung out with Mouth House, Higher Things and LiGW people, got to hear Dr. Rast and Dr. Scaer present their papers (which were great) and the Kantorei, attended church at Redeemer Thursday night, and SAW SNOW! w00t! I think everybody was severely amused by my two-year-old excitement about a few inches of snow, but my goodness, it was so cool. :-D Even the 19 and a half hour car ride up and the 22 hour car ride back was fun! I started developing that midwestern accent while I was up there - I quickly regained a slight Texas accent after being in the van with Landon for 18 hours. ;-) It helps that I talk slower when I'm exhausted...

I had SO much adrenaline when I got home Saturday morning that I ended up unpacking and doing all my laundry, somehow getting a 3 and a half hour nap in there. Went to church Sunday, and then came home and went to see Tristan & Isolde - which, btw, rocks SOCKS if you're into medieval romances. ;-) (The song I quoted basically goes perfect with the movie.) It affected me more than the Notebook, which apparently is saying something. My adrenaline high carried me all the way 'till the ride home from the movie, when it crashed and burned 'cause I got ridiculously annoyed at something trivial. So now I'm quite mellowed out... well, if you ignore the caffeine currently wreaking havoc on my body (it doesn't USUALLY do this...).

HP 5 finally came from the library, so I started on that - very good so far! I also got Southern By the Grace of God by Michael Grissom, which so far is an excellent book about, well, being Southern. ;-D

Things on tap for this week: reading, teaching piano, voice and bell choir, a youth fundraiser Friday and then a LiGW Bible study at Texas A&M on Saturday in College Station.
I've also gotta think of more places to apply for a job - nobody's called me back yet. There's a job that I think would be great for me - the only drawback being that I would have to work with someone who 50% of the time annoys the crap outta me. Decisions... yay. ;-P Sunday is church, the Jr. High youth's potato bake and a voter's meeting, at which the congregation will most likely decide on our next associate pastor - exciting stuff. :-D

PANTS, y'all!

She's Gone

Gone like a freight-train, gone like yesterday
Gone like a soldier in the civil war bang-bang
Gone like a '59 Cadillac
Like all the good things that ain't never coming back
She's gone
, gone, gone, gone, gone, she's gone
In 4 and a half hours I will be on my way to Ft. Wayne, Indiana for the Symposia at the sem! :-D I'm SO veryvery excited. *bounces around* I'm going with Landon (our youth chairman) and Scott (youth chairman at another Lutheran church near here). We're driving straight through, which'll probably prove to be interesting - I'm sure I'll have lots of stories when I get home. ;-) We'll probably get there sometime Monday afternoon/evening and eating supper at Pr. Scudder's house. Then Landon and Scott'll drop me off at the Casey's, where I'll be staying all week! Yay!! :-D We'll be heading back Friday sometime, and probably get home Saturday afternoon/evening.

So the holiday season was crazy-hectic but much fun as always. Of course just as we've gotten back into a regular routine, I'm scuttling off to Ft. Wayne, haha. I'm trying to find a job at the moment - I've applied at several places, hopefully some of them will call back soonish.

For those of you who haven't heard or maybe have heard rumors - yes, I did break up with Mark. It's probably one of the harder things I've done in my short lifetime - hurting him was one of the last things I wanted to do. But, it was for the best... and before y'all start firing names of single guys at me, I'm not ready for another boyfriend. ;-P To those of y'all going to Ft. Wayne - don't try to set me up with every not married sem guy on campus! ;-)

Other than that... not terribly much has happened. Or if it has, I'm way too excited to remember it at the moment. ;-) So, I'll see some of you guys in a couple days and talk to the rest of you when I get back! PANTS! :-D
